What are Cannabinoids?
There is a ton of hype happening in this world about CBD and CANNABINOIDS, but majority can’t tell you why. Most just say CBD is the most medically beneficial cannabinoid, which isn’t true. Each cannabinoid has it’s own therapeutic benefits like any essential oil. Cannabis Sativa (which is the name for hemp as well) when extracted is an essential oil.
Most people think of Cannabis as a plant that just get’s you high. There are many more aspects to this plant then just THC (Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) which is the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, although THC (Delta-9), THC-V, CBD, CBN, among some of the other compounds within the cannabis plant are pharmaceutical and known as phytocannabinoids.
Researchers have identified more than 85 cannabinoid compounds, each of which is being studied for their various therapeutic properties. Interacting with the Endocannabinoid System in order to treat a wide number of symptoms and ailments.
What’s interesting about these compounds, is that while each of them possess their own unique set of therapeutic properties, they also work synergistically with each other in order to provide a more powerful overall therapy. This is what everyone is preaching about; the Entourage Effect. Most all of the known cannabinoids have medical use! In fact, not only do the cannabinoids help each other, they also work with the various therapeutic terpenoids that are naturally produced by the cannabis plant!
